Potential for Misuse
will learn about past studies and comments regarding frequency
occurrence in FDE. Attendees will learn about how the study was
developed so that they can address such matters in litigation.
Some of the areas covered will be population sampling,
intrinsic and extrinsic effects on handwriting from a
quantitative position, attribute agreement analysis and how this
step helps the reliability of such studies and the frequency
results. Attendees will have the opportunity to try hands on how
the data was processed and can be extracted for use in casework.
Attendees will be provided several Exercises from which to gain
a groundwork of experience. We will collectively discuss ways
the collected data can be used to include the potential use of
the Product Rule in establishing overall probabilities.
Attendees will also learn how to calculate a frequency range
that is in the 95% confidence area. Then, and only then all
attendees receive a big surprise present!!!
***Attendees will need to bring a laptop that has
